French Connection Presents Spring Summer ‘15


The Spring Summer 2015 collection sees French Connection men’s attire plays with pattern with a focus on modern sportswear. Work wear becomes playful and urban, as smart wardrobe essentials are designed in mind for the modern city boy who skates or cycles to work.

The French Connection basics range is updated with an introduction of fresh new colourways and prints for the summer season. Basic items such as chinos, polo’s and tees remain fundamental items for summer and sit alongside silk bombers, printed shorts and sport jerseys. Jeans stay classic with indigo as a base colour but washed out to create a vintage feel and softer to the touch.

Minimal dressing is key to the season, silhouettes are effortless and slim fitting, details such as stitching, pockets and zips are nominal creating clean seams for modern construction. Garments are clever in creation using angled darts and welded pockets all incorporated on light sportslux fabrics, knits and cottons.

Print, art and graphic visuals inspires the atheistic of the whole collection. Floral and graphic prints are juxtaposed and introduced into classic masculine shapes; whilst hand painted camouflage designs update simple styles such the hooded jackets, shirts and shorts.

Dotty spots and stars add a playful tone to everyday basics like button down collar shirts and cotton T-shirts.

Summer staples see a nod to impressionist art in bold blended brush strokes and bursts of pastel hues of lavender, pink and greens.

The collection is thoroughly modern and designed to create a multifaceted summer wardrobe perfect for the modern day man.


For spring French Connection plays on the idea of confliction in design. The main concept surrounds the idea of bringing two opposing design ideas together to create something aesthetically beautifully for the modern women.

We’re playing with print this spring. Forget clashing your top with your skirt or vice versa, we’re talking about two or three prints in one garment, complementing each other whilst fighting for your attention. For the ladies, rainbow acid tones in wishy-washy soft sprays adorn structured evening dresses.

Spring also brings with it a brand new print and this time we’ve find you an exotic print you won’t be able to resist. Kicking off the season in vibrant astro turf green, symmetrically beautiful patterns from the giant leopard moth take centre stage.

Strict lines and skinny cuts are out, as we’re building on from our loose shapes of last season and pulling out what we’re calling comfortable, slouchy yet oh so refined. Shirts and tops come in the softest fabrics while trousers are ballooned, slightly over-sized yet cut to perfection. Dresses come in dreamy relaxed fits that will have you yearning to hit the beach.

In a nod towards classic cult films the likes of Tim Burton’s hit, Edward Scissor Hands, has been used as a reference for the deconstruction of garments as well as colour pallets. Sombre colours of amber sun and nocturnal blue contrast artificial hues of astro green and maya blue. A slash and cut effect makes for a literal take on the reference, seen on tea dresses with floral patchwork inserts.

Sherbert tones come in the way of sugary pinks, a perfect nod towards the late 50’s suburbia film set of pristine astro turf and picket fences. These sweet tones collide with a stark monochrome graffiti and hand scribbled drawings whilst neon signage and psychedelic colour ways add to a conflicting era aesthetic.
